Dan Looney was recently awarded his Professional Engineer (PE) license by the State of Washington. Obtaining his license is a key step in his professional development as a marine/mechanical engineer for Art Anderson Associates.
Mr. Looney is a retired US Navy Captain with over 27 years of honorable service, most recently serving as the Commanding Officer of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport, Washington. Upon his retirement from Naval service, Dan embarked on a second career as a design engineer, being hired by Art Anderson Associates in 2008. Since that time, he has worked towards obtaining his license while leading and working on many of the firm's naval architecture and marine engineering contracts. One of his recent highlights is serving as the Project Manager for the NOAA Fleet Greening Study, a project investigating a variety of means to improve energy efficiency and the environmental footprint of the NOAA fleet of research vessels.
Pete Hesford is not only a Construction Manager for Art Anderson Associates, he is also an Army Reservist, and recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. In an "all hands" ceremony in which we showed our appreciation for his service and welcomed him home, Pete shared some of his thoughts with us:
